The Wrap, having a front closure which wraps around the body, forming a V-shaped neckline.
Wrap dresses have been designed by Elsa Schiaparelli in the 1930s, and Claire McCardell in the 1940s, whose original “popover” design became the basis for a variety of wrap-around dresses.
Diane von Fürstenberg again popularized the Wrap dress around 1970, with her choice of fabrics and patterns, distinguishing her work from earlier forms.
